A project was proposed in FY 1997 under the Clean Water Act, Section
319 (h) Agricultural/Silvicultural Nonpoint Source Management Program
for the watersheds of Oak Creek and Lake Trammell for the Big Country
Resource Conservation and Development Area. Brush infestation of
rangeland was the problem and assessment of BMPs to reduce sediment into
the two reservoirs was the issue. Selected removal of the brush with
resulting improvement in the hydrologic condition of the rangeland was
the primary BMP studied to reduce sediment. |
