The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) project area entails
10,160 sq. km (3,925 sq. mile) of the lower Colorado River beginning
immediately below Austin, Texas. Assessment of nonpoint source
pollutants is emphasized in this project, especially those originating
from cropland. NRCS modeling, in conjunction with LCRA’s collection of
runoff samples, was done in an attempt to determine what effects BMPs
can have on sediment, nutrient and chemical loads in cropland runoff. |
