RC&D Office Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Rio Grande-Nueces RC&D Area was authorized in 2002 and is currently working on council organization and leadership development, as well as implementing an aggressive Information and Outreach Program. The marketing strategy includes the development of educational materials and presentations to sponsors and potential sponsors, as well as other organizations.

The Rio Grande-Nueces RC&D Area is actively establishing “County Councils” (local work groups) and is working with the Texas/Mexico Border Coalition in planning and implementing a series of outreach meetings targeting nontraditional USDA clients.

Ideas for potential RC&D projects are being received and studied. Presentations concerning these potential projects are being developed for consideration by the Council. The Area looks forward to establishing itself as a viable and energetic avenue for addressing resource and community concerns for our nine-county area. The Area anticipates having an active role in the RC&D Border Coalition and in addressing U.S.-Mexico Border Issues, within the area.
