EQIP Program in Live Oak County

The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) offers cost share assistance to agricultural producers to implement on-farm conservation practices.  The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) determines eligible producers for the EQIP program and determines eligible land.  Eligible producers may apply for cost share assistance on conservation practices that will address the identified resource concern identified by the Local Work Group (LWG).

Live Oak County Office Information

Interested agricultural producers may apply in person at the Live Oak County USDA Service Center. Applicants may also request EQIP assistance by telephone, Fax, e-mail, or letter.

Objective:

Promoting the use of conservation practices to improve natural resources throughout Live Oak County, is the main objective of the Local Work Group.

County EQIP Resource Concern:

The Local Work Group, in Live Oak County, has identified Water Quality as its primary Resource Concern.

Priority for Funding:

  • 1/3 percent will be used to address Water Quality concerns using select brush management practices
  • 1/3 percent will be used to address Water Quality concerns using livestock water development and/or cross fencing
  • 1/3 percent will be used to address Water Quality concerns using critical area erosion treatment and grass planting

  • The approved practices will be cost-shared based on the established average cost of the practice in Live Oak County see cost list. The amount of cost-share earned will be determined by the number of units certified after completion, multiplied by the established average cost, multiplied by the allowable cost-share percentage.

     1. Are you classified as an “Agricultural Producer” according to the attached self certification sheet? Yes / No

    2. Do you own or lease the land you wish to treat? Own / Lease
    If required by NRCS you must show proof of ownership of the property to be treated.
    Lease land will require a lease agreement for the term of the contract. Also before contract is approved, all owners will have to concur in writing with planned practices.
