Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative

The Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative (CCPI) is a voluntary conservation initiative that enables the use of certain conservation programs with resources of eligible partners to provide financial and technical assistance to owners and operators of agricultural and nonindustrial private forest lands.

Texas Projects

Houston Toad

The purpose it to facilitate the recovery of the federally endangered Houston toad, improving water quality in Alum Creek, sequestering carbon through reforestation and sustainable forest management, and develop habitat-sensitive fire breaks for prescribed burning and minimizing the potential for catastrophic wildfire.

Canadian River

The purpose is to control invasive salt cedar, Russian olive, and eastern red cedar in riparian areas along the Canadian River to improve wildlife habitat, forage and water supply for livestock, and to improve water quality.

Area: Hutchinson, Roberts, Hemphill Counties
