Fish Pond Management Workshop Scheduled for April 29


Seguin, Texas - April 18, 2008.  Landowners interested in learning about fish pond management will have an opportunity on Tuesday, April 29, at Capote Fish Farm, 1975 Sagebiel Road, in Seguin. The workshop will feature a wide array of speakers and topics that include pond site selection, design and construction, stocking rates, pond balance, fertilization, pond weed identification and control measures.

Registration is 8:30-9 a.m. and the presentations will be 9 a.m. until noon. Admission is $5 and includes handouts and refreshments. Seating is limited so respond by April 25 to Beverly Hartwick or Bill Finch at (830) 379-0930, ext. 3.

Three continuing education units (CEUs) will be offered for participating in the workshop.

Workshop sponsors include Comal-Guadalupe Soil and Water Conservation District #306 (SWCD), and the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices in Seguin and New Braunfels.
