Outreach Effort for 2007 Census

Approximately 80 people attended an outreach program to promote minority participation in the 2007 Ag Census at the Lange Tree EcoCenter in Liberty County, Texas, Feb. 15, 2008.

National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) enumerators, community leaders, and locally elected officials attended the meeting and provided information about the census.

Employees of NASS from Austin, Texas, and Washington D.C. participated in the meeting. Scott Alford, NRCS district conservationist in Kountze; Tom Smith, NRCS natural resources manager in Liberty; and Brooke Turner, NRCS soil conservationist in Liberty; attended the meeting to lend their support for the census.

NRCS employees, NASS participants, and community leaders attended an outreach event to encourage participation in the 2007 ag census. The event was held at Barbara and Chuck Lange's Lange Tree EcoCenter in Liberty County, Texas.
