NRCS and District Honor Outstanding Conservationists

The 22nd Annual Agriculture and Forestry Appreciation Banquet was held on Thursday, June 15, 2006 in Carthage at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. The banquet is co-sponsored by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Panola Soil and Water Conservation District.

The annual banquet recognizes the importance of agriculture and forestry in Panola County. One hundred and fifty five people attended to honor the recipients of the awards for Outstanding Conservation Rancher, the Forestry Conservationist, Community Service to Agriculture, and the USDA Producer of the Year.

  Ross Brown, District Conservationist in the Carthage Field Office, presented the USDA Producer of the Year award at the 22nd Annual Agriculture and Forestry Appreciation Banquet. A. V. Clay of DeBerry, Texas was recognized as the Outstanding Conservation Rancher.  Matt Feno, Soil Conservationist, presented the award.
