NRCS Texas Civil Rights Policy Statement

Civil Rights are rights each of us as employees deserve to receive. As public servants, we have a responsibility to ensure that these rights are afforded to everyone we serve as a matter of routine.

Without reservation, I am in full support of the Secretary of Agriculture’s and our Chief’s policy statements on civil rights. All Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) employees in Texas will do their part to translate this commitment into meaningful action everyday.

By treating each other and all of our customers with dignity, respect, and equality, we will exhibit the true professionalism for which our agency is known. All applicants, clients, and partners will have equal access to the programs and services offered by this agency to effectively fulfill our mission of “Helping People Help the Land.”

I am committed to providing a professional work environment that is inclusive; free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; and where the uniqueness, background, and experience of every employee are appreciated. I expect no less of every employee. By working together, Texas will be a standing example of the true meaning of “civil” rights.
