403.91 Policy
It is NRCS policy to conduct a positive and continuing AI/ANEP that provides
equal employment opportunity for American Indian/Alaskan Natives in all
personnel management policies and practices, as well as in NRCS-sponsored
programs and activities.
403.92 Program Objectives
A. Increase the total number of American Indian/Alaskan Natives in all
Professional, Administrative, Technical, Clerical, and Others (PATCO)
categories, series, and grade levels.
B. Encourage the participation of American Indian/Alaskan Natives in all NRCS-sponsored
programs and activities.
C. Provide a network of professional support for American Indian/Alaskan
Natives.
D. Ensure that the American Indian/Alaskan Native community receives equal
treatment in all aspects of employment.
E. Provide opportunities to participate in training and training programs, such
as career enhancement, graduate studies, and others.

November is American Indian Heritage Month
American Indian Heritage Month is celebrated to recognize the inter-tribal
cultures and to educate the public about the heritage, history, art, and
traditions of American Indians and Alaska Natives. American Indian Heritage
Month enhances our efforts to honor tribal sovereignty by working on a
government-to-government basis with American Indians and Alaska Natives. We
honor the rights of Indian tribes and work to protect and enhance tribal
resources.
