Congress established the Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative (CCPI)
to enhance cooperative conservation on agriculture and nonindustrial private
forest lands. The voluntary initiative provides financial and technical
assistance to landowners that work together to address regional conservation
concerns.

During the recent torrential rainfall in Milam and Bell counties in October, a
new dam within the Elm Creek (Cen-Tex) Watershed recently constructed by USDA-NRCS and local sponsors helped prevent
the possibility of floodwater damages. |

funding for repairs to five flood control dams in Ellis County utilizing $5.78
